No Scales Baked Goods... Go Ahead and Throw Out Your Scales Our Food is That Good!

More About No Scales...

Started in Bastrop, Louisiana in my kitchen, originated out of Buford, Georgia where I grew up with the best cooking education at the hands of the World's Best Grandma and Cook, Evelyn Braswell Jauch. Don't trust a skinny cook, and we are proof positive of that! And when you taste the food, you will throw out your scales and enjoy being full and happy!

The Awesome Goodies...

The goodies are a culmination of many true, Southern recipes with my own twist. Styles of cooking from Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Which means amazing taste and big portions at a fair price. I also take pride in locally grown, fresh ingredients. And most of the menu items can be made to suit various allergies such as soy, lactose and gluten free. Additionally we offer diabetic versions and try to take special requests when available.

Take a look at our menu, and come visit us. Laissez les bon temps rouler!!!

My Mission

As much as I enjoy making others fat and happy so I can feel smaller, the real story behind this company start and ends with a desire to prevent Domestic Abuse in all forms and to empower women and others coming from these circumstances. I am 3rd generation of abuse, and after my divorce and a few stays in different domestic violence shelters I noticed a need for my fellow survivors to have a means of independence. Many times the biggest hurdle facing a survivor of Domestic Violence is finding a job that is willing to hire someone with children, little verifiable work history, little to no good job references, and with constraints on their time, abilities and location. After years of raising babies and cooking and cleaning for an unappreciative man, there are 3 main things these ladies are great at, dealing with people especially grumpy ones, cooking and keeping a place spotless. Which are perfect traits for the food industry. Hopefully soon this will take off and I can expand to hire more women.

"No Scales" has a double meaning, beyond tossing those things out that remind us of society's idea of what beauty is, it's also a reference to the problems in the family justice system and how nothing is ever fair or just in these circumstances, especially to a survivor.
